You recently learned about a service organization on your campus, Mentors for Majors. The Mentors are alumni and other working professionals who have agreed to field student inquiries about the nature of their jobs, about strategies for career success, and so forth.
You’ve been thinking about a certain kind of career, and you’d like to get more information about it from an experienced professional. Checking over the list, you find that there’s a mentor in this very area. Write an email to the person in which you ask your questions. Find out the main things you’d like to know about this field of employment in a way that shows consideration for the reader and demonstrates your own serious interest in that type of job. (If your instructor directs, use either someone you know or someone you’ve researched on the Internet and through other resources. Turn in a one-paragraph profile of this person along with your email of inquiry.)
